Commentary

2 Kings 5 is a chapter that tells the story of Naaman, a commander of the army of the king of Aram. Naaman is a leper, and he has heard of the prophet Elisha in Israel who can heal him. Naaman goes to Elisha, and Elisha sends a messenger to tell him to go and wash in the Jordan River seven times. Naaman is initially angry and refuses to do this, but his servants convince him to try it. After washing in the Jordan River seven times, Naaman is healed of his leprosy. This chapter is a great example of faith and obedience. Naaman was willing to put his faith in the prophet Elisha and obey his instructions, even though it seemed strange to him. He was willing to take a risk and try something that seemed impossible. This is a great lesson for us today. We should be willing to put our faith in God and obey His instructions, even when it doesn't make sense to us. We should be willing to take risks and trust that God will work out the details.
